Businesses operating for less than a year
LISC LA can only lend to businesses or organizations that have been in operation for 2 or more years. You may be a good candidate for the following loan programs:

  2. Inclusive Action for the City Loans 

Loans
Through our suite of commercial and small business loan products, LISC provides financing to developers and small businesses located in underserved neighborhoods and rural communities where we work. 

We strategically support businesses and nonprofits in low and moderate-income communities and businesses owned by women and people of color.

Technical Assistance
Here are some technical assistance providers that may be helpful for your business: 
  1. Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program is made up of six different organizations that all work to support small businesses. They can help small business owners with access to capital, county public health requirements, developing an online presence, contracts and licensing. 
  2. The Center by Lendistry provides one-on-one advising for underserved and under-banked communities. They have a series of sessions that can be accessed on-demand, making assistance flexible for busy entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping with Quickbooks, business plans, marketing, procurement and bidding. 
  3. Inclusive Action for the City addresses the need for access to capital. They can help small business owners, street vendor entrepreneurs with capital (loans from $1,000 to $30,000), and small business coaching for clients: technology, accounting, credit assistance, legal support and permitting. 
  4. Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment offers support through business development, education, employment services, environmental services and affordable housing. 
  5. The LA Chamber of Commerce is focused on economic mobility for entrepreneurs, small business owners and the next generation of workforce. They help small business with increasing sales, access to capital, operations, technology, planning for long-term growth and procurement opportunities. 
  6. New Economics For Women provides comprehensive support through affordable housing, career services, food services, and their Women's Business Center. The WBC offers one-on-one advising, informational webinars, and promotional exposition opportunities. 
  7. Pacific Coast Regional offers one-on-one small business advising, online webinars, and programs organized into cohorts of entrepreneurs. They also help with disaster funding, loans, financial literacy, business plan development, procurement and many others. 
  8. Start Small Think Big focuses on providing services to under resourced entrepreneurs with legal, marketing, finance and scaling operations. 
  9. Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation works with existing and startup small businesses to strengthen their operations and resilience in order to increase their scale.
