Home-based Child Care Educator Housing Stability Project

LISC National Child Care & Early Learning is playing a pivotal role in addressing the housing challenges faced by home-based child care providers. As part of a new pilot program developed in collaboration with LISC Phoenix, LISC is bringing together key partners in housing, financial education, and small-business development to lay the groundwork for a model that can be expanded to communities across the nation.

Through this effort, we are creating several opportunities for peer learning and sharing exchanges – to bring together mission-aligned organizations working on home-based child care issues and intersections across workforce, housing, and financial stability:

  • Information Updates & Newsletter – Sign up to receive relevant program updates from LISC.
  • Community of Practice – Sign up to participate in a cohort of mission-aligned organizations eager to learn more about housing stability for home-based child care educators – no previous program experience in these fields required.
  • Working Group – Sign up to be considered for a working group cohort of CDFIs, social impact, local LISC offices, or other community-based organizations actively working on issues related to child care, housing, and financial stability. Groups will share strategies and best practice models, while capturing program data so members may further iterate, improve, and set the course for future program design. Work will inform and contribute to the development of a playbook, white papers, or other tools to support an expanded audience of potential implementation partners. Funding will be made available to organizations selected for working group participation to support staff capacity.
